FAQ

 What are your grade levels?
WCA currently serves grades 1st through 12th grade.

Student Grade Levels
WCA is unique in we don’t label our students by what grade they are in rather than what level of academics they are in. Each of our of students are unique and we believe there is no one way to teaching or style of learning. It is our goal to educate each student to the level of achieving high success in all their education and pursue whatever God’s calling on their life weather that be a Career, Trade School, Community College or University.

What are the classes like?
Classes at WCA are very active and hand-on. We believe that good education involves the whole person – not just the mind and academics, but all other aspects as well – character development, leadership, and social skills.  While much of our direct effort is focused on academics, we also recognize that character, social and other aspects are equally as important. It is our goal to make each class at WCA unique to our students by providing them instruction in a fun, dynamic, exciting upbeat way. We feel with our unique approach through lower class sizes, multi-grade classrooms, individualized hands-on instruction, and quality curriculum, we engage our students in learning that supersedes the traditional approach.

What kind of curriculum do you offer?

We use curriculum that must meet the following:
Curriculum revolves around the Word of God.
Curriculum teaches values.
Curriculum that encourages critical thinking.
Curriculum that leads with grace.

WCA employs the use of curriculum that is Christ-centered and based upon the word of God. The core of our material is Christian Light Education, which provides an academically sound, quality education from a Christian perspective. We also use curriculum from Purposeful Design Publications, ABEKA, Sunlight and our own WCA Written curriculum to meet our students’ educational needs. We believe there is no one perfect curriculum and base what curriculum that is used based on our students individual educational needs.

Does WCA accept students with IEPs?
YES! All our students have an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan). Again, we believe there is no one way to provide education to all students. Each one is unique so we provide an individualized education plan for all our students.

How will you incorporate Bible teaching into the school?
From math and science to art and humanities, every aspect of WCA education is cast in the light of God’s Word. Your children won’t just learn the basic building blocks of academics, but how those building blocks support and uphold the ultimate truth of the Bible. Our curriculum functions under the knowledge of an omnipotent Creator, and all the information taught thereof reflects that central focus in everything we do.

Are there field trips?
We include field trips throughout the year from time to time. These can include local walking trips to our nearest park or library. And larger trips to destinations based off our current learning lessons. ( Zoo, Museum, State Parks) Parents will be notified when those trips will be taking place.
